Registration for fall classes has begun! Registration forms recieved by the Recital will be eligable to win our drawing for a free class next year! There is a $25 fee due by September next year.
Programs we offer at ABC can suit many types of students. Each student has their own goals in mind when signing up for dance class. Some take class just as a fun, social activity. Some want to do it more seriously, perform seriously and be involved in extra things, above and beyond their weekly classes. Others plan to continue dance as a career, whether it be as performers, teachers or choreographers. For any of these students, dance can be a great outlet and confidence building activity that teaches poise and discipline, grace and strength, and at ABC we strive to "Always Build Character." We have different programs for each of these students because putting them all together would not satisfy the needs of each student. Please see below for a description of each track we offer.
Classes:
Mommy & Me: Age 2-3 Creative Movement: Age 2 1/2-4 Pre-Ballet/Tap: Age 4-5 Ballet: Age 5 & up Tap: Age 5 & up Jazz: Age 5 & up Acrobatics/Tumbling: Age 5 & up Hip Hop: Age 7 & up Musical Theatre/Production: Age 7 & up Modern: Age 10 & up Lyrical/Contemporary: Age 10 & up Pointe: Age 12 & up, by director's invite only
Any students who would like to be on either of the performance teams or in the company MUST take the weekly summer technique class and are strongly encouraged to take one of the summer camps. Dedication is absolutely necessary and not dancing all summer is not beneficial to a dancer's body. Students need to stay in shape and continue to work on their technique throughout the summer.

Recreational Track |
Our recreational track is for those who want to take a good, fun dance class, with the flexibility to do many other activities as well. We still require good attendance, but can be a little more flexible. These classes are open to anyone ages 3 and up. Workshops and parades are open to these dancers as well.

Performance Team, Track 1 |
The Performance Team track 1 is for dancers who are a little more serious about their dance classes and want extra performance experiences that could include competition, as well as local community performances. This track has some basic requirements. These students must take a two hour technique class once a week that will focus on stretching and strengthening, as well as turns and jumps. They may be involved in another activity, but good attendance is still expected and there will only be a limited number of absences allowed due to participation in another activity. (Going to the movies or out on the town with friends does NOT count as an excused activity!) Any dancer in this track should still be working to be the best dancer they can be! There will be auditions for this track on July 20th. Auditions are open to students ages 7 and up.

Performance Team, Track 2 |
The Performance Team track 2 is for dancers who spend the majority of their extracurricular time on dance. These dancers may want a career in dance and understand the commitment involved in this field. These students will NOT miss more than the allotted number of classes and will do their very best to be at ALL classes and rehearsals. These students should want and expect to be pushed to achieve their fullest potential, and understand the work involved and expected. There will be a required 2 hour technique class, as well as a required ballet class. Students in this track will perfomrn in any pieces they are chosen for in this group. Auditions, held July 20th, are open to all dancers ages 10 and up.

Youth Contemporary Company |
This year we will be forming a youth contemporary dance company entitled Metamophosis! This company will rehearse independant of regular classes, but any of these dancers must be enrolled in one of the Performance Team tracks and take the required 2 hour technique class. We will be doing a contemporary piece with this company, much like with "Rising Above" this past year, that will be performed at various local performances and possibly school assemblies, etc. Students accepted in the company must commit to rehearsal and performance times and understand the importance of staying focused and doing their very best. We will focus more on the artistic nature of dance and use this to speak to the world. Auditions will be held for students ages 9 and up on July 20th.
